    Candace's Corner of The World

Essential oils and cotton balls in the ears are a few of my favorite things...and then I don't feel so bad!

It all started when I developed the Ear/Nose/Throat Oil, which started as just Ear Oil. I found that putting several drops on a piece of a cotton ball and keeping it in my ears during the night, gave the oils a chance to work through my whole head, helping with ears, sinuses, head and throat. It grew to be very comforting as well. So when I travel, I do this for protection, and when I can't get to sleep, I do this for cozy comfort.

When I started to "think" about what was going on....I realized this is a great way to get the oils to the brain...where all the nonsense and magic originates. The molecules of aroma travel up the nose, and the benefits of the oils travel through the ears. So all the wild monkeys swinging around in our head, get anesthetized and don't stand a chance. Now I do this whenever the need arises, day or night, and then I put on my hat!

Gently brushing the forehead of a dear one with a little BLEND on a cotton ball, has shown it's value to me. It doesn't get any dearer than being able to do this for your parents to ease their passing. My how we are blessed! All you have to do is show up with your hands, a little oil, and a pure heart. A few cotton balls help too!

    What's On YOUR Mind?

One of our customers who called last week, reported that she is having an unusually difficult time in maintaining her sense of well being, due to work being done in her home that is disrupting what is usually her sacred space. The oils that have helped her specially were Lavender, Orange and Frankincense. She said she has always loved and used the oils, however, she is finding a whole new dimension of them in terms of bringing her back to balance. She has tried many other things, but stated that the oils were the most powerful and effective. She is now using cotton balls!

This story reminds me of my wonderful Tai Chi and Qi Gong teacher, Brian Weatherly. One day I brought some Frankincense to class and we put a drop of this precious oil in our palms. He said nothing he had ever used, grounded him like that, and got him connected to his energy so quickly and powerfully.

Another customer told us she puts cotton balls of Lavender inside the toilet paper and paper towel rolls and it always soothes her. Great idea!

    Cotton Balls, Ears & Balance

What do these three things have in common? Over the years, I continue to be in awe of the power of simple and that more is often less. Whether we feel the need to clear and balance our personal space; or desire to comfort and balance our personal sense of well being...there are easy and enjoyable ways to do this with cotton balls and essential oils.

So arm yourself with cotton balls (100% cotton) and essential oils you really love. Put 3-6 drops of straight pure oil (combine two or more if you like) on some cotton balls and put them in key places. Ideas: on your desk in an attractive dish (like shot glasses and china ashtrays), in your bathroom, on your bedside table by your head, in your pillow, in your car, in your pocket near your heart and lungs, in your sleeve, and in small places around your environment. Some good choices are Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Frankincense and Geranium.

If you are really feeling out of kilter, a wonderful way to bring "sweet scents to the brain" (Greek definition for the word aroma), is to put pure oil on a cotton ball and keep it on your person every moment. You can also put 3-4 drops of a BLEND (essential oils mixed in a base oil) on a piece of a cotton ball and keep it in your ear. This helps to calm down and go to sleep at night, or helps you feel better during the day. Put a dab of the BLEND on your nose for a little jump start. A cotton ball on the soles of your feet with socks is good too. Some blends to use are Natural Tranquilizer, and any of the OLA Massage Blends. Of course it might be time for Rose, Jasmine, or Ylang Ylang.

For a loved one put some of a BLEND on a cotton ball, and gently brush their forehead. Use this blend for a gentle Touch With Oils® Hand Massage. OLA Three and Four are especially suited for this. A cotton ball in their pillow or pocket is an added comfort.

Choose the aromas you love. Nurture yourself and others with the benefits of essential oils and their aromas. Life is precious...and so are our relationships.
