One of the many excellent tips I learned in London,
studying with Micheline Arcier, is very appropriate for
cold-flu season.
For bedtime relief and protection, put 1-2 drops of
Eucalyptus on the sole of each foot and wear socks. You can do
this rub with our Ear/Nose/Throat Oil if you
prefer a foot rub.
Often when sick, I have done this during the day as well.
Put the oils on a piece of kleenex, then socks and shoes.
In Chinese Medicine the soles of our feet are called
"the bubbling well." It is a highly
absorptive part of the body. I find it a valuable spot for
essential oil application that effects our whole being.

| Which essential oil is best for my steam
shower?
Eucalyptus is the oil of choice for steam rooms and
showers. Peppermint, Tea Tree, and Rosemary are also often
used. Most of the time you use drops of the straight pure oil.
However, if you have a steam unit, be sure and check with the
manufacturer about safety or damage.
Turn on the shower with hot water and put 3-4 drops of
Eucalyptus on the floor. Step into your Eucalyptus
Healing Cloud of Mist and breathe!

| Respiratory Oils for Cold-Flu Season |
 |
| In the world of Aromatherapy,
Eucalyptus is known as the oil of
respiration. Did you know certain Eucalyptus trees are the
second largest trees in the world? The essential oil is
distilled from the leaves and brings us a concentrated liquid
that works as a mucolytic and expectorant.
Two other top essential oils to ward off respiratory
infections are Tea Tree and Peppermint. They
relieve sinus pain, congestion and headaches. They are the
main two essential oils in our Vapor Rub Gel.
Apply to your nose for protection as well as relieving
symptoms. Don't forget a good chest and back rub. Massaging
the middle of the back is a good way to reach into the lungs.
Use essential oils straight for inhalation and diffusers.
Always mix them with a base oil to apply to the skin. Your
ears and nose are passageways into the head and these blends
are excellent gatekeepers.
The aromas of pure essential oils help shift our emotional
states, while their antiseptic qualities support the physical
body. |
