There are many things us humans have in common. One of them
is the continual process of dealing with bumps & bruises.
I had another "opportunity" this week with the process.
"Playing around" with a happy puppy is always a risk. As
our little Miss Muga and I were gallivanting around the house,
before I could say "boo", both feet flew out from under me and
I landed on the flat part of my sacrum on the wood floor.
There I lay, with Muga wiggling around because now she thought
I was on the floor to play with her, and John dashing for the
Lavender and ice.
My 16 years with essential oils have taught me a few really
powerful things. One is the anti-inflammatory, analgesic
powers of Lavender. There are right times to use straight
essential oils on the skin. One is for "bumps & bruises"
as along as the area is not huge.
So 3-4 drops of straight Lavender went directly on my low
back area. About 5 minutes later, we did this again. Then I
rested for about 15-20 minutes with ice on it, followed by
another dose of the straight Lavender. Getting straight
Lavender on the damaged area as soon as possible, cuts down on
the inflammation.
For several days, I used Scar & Bruise Oil. This is
Lavender, Helichrysum and Rose otto in Organic Golden Jojoba.
These essential oils are remedies to the rescue for damaged
tissue and skin. If appropriate pour Scar & Bruise Oil in
your palm and strengthen it with 1-2 drops of Lavender, or put
the pure Lavender in a palm full of Jojoba.
Once again, I am grateful for the power of essential oils.
While soothing and healing our physical bumps & bruises,
their aromas are wafting our emotions.
It is the combination and integration of things that
balances us. While using the Lavender, ice, and Scar &
Bruise Oil, I was also grateful for the Advil for
inflammation. The buffet table of remedies is abundant. Choose
wisely. May your road be smooth...not bumpy.
