    Candace's Corner of The World

Well, John and I asked for four seasons in the mountains and a winter time of snow...and we got it in spades! The Durango Herald reported this as the Super Storm of 2008, and the meteorologist claims it is one in a million.

I haven't shoveled snow since I was a little girl in Washington, DC, and am making up for all those years in this one Winter. It snowed on and off for 8 days and it was so deep that we left our truck at the end of the driveway (1/4 mile with an arduous incline). Then we trekked up and down in the snow with incoming and outgoing packages. As I was walking up one time with my backpack of mail and packages, looking at the gorgeous trees and mountains, it reminded me of biking down Route 1 in California and hiking up Machu Picchu. You look up to acknowledge your goal, and then you put your head down and keep going...one peddle and one step at a time. Just like life. What an adventure.

Needless to day, John and I have back, shoulder and neck pains that we didn't know we could have. We are learning a whole new level of the benefits and comforts of Deep Rub Gel. It's a twice a day habit. This is why it is our 10% off special to you this month.

Then there is puppy Muga who thinks this is the most fun in the world, hopping through the snow like a fox. She gets a paw massage on her sore paw with Skin Calm Gel at night and one of my socks for bed. In the midst of the storms, there are always reasons to have an outrageous sense of gratitude. May we all get the wisdom as we climb our mountains. The view is awesome.

A Connecticut customer with extreme fibromyalgia reports one of the things that helps her the most is her nightly routine with our Deep Rub Gel. She mixes it in her hand with a little Organic Golden Jojoba, and massages her feet, ankles, and legs up to her knees. This nightly routine provides great comfort.

Pennsylvania Customer: "We love your Deep Rub Gel. My husband has tennis elbow that disturbs his sleep. The pain was gone almost immediately and for the first time in months, he slept through the night. I decided to try some on my ankle with the same outstanding results."

Ohio Customer: "Last night my neck was hurting like a stiff neck. I warmed my hands and rubbed your Deep Rub into my neck and then rubbed the area in my hand that is associated with the neck. The next morning the pain was gone. Actually it was gone before I fell asleep."

Deep Rub in the Winter Time

Some of us head for the sun in the Winter, others are in the snow or rain. If we are in the land of the sun, it often involves working hard in the busy season in a place like Florida, or playing hard with golf, tennis and other physical endeavors. Those of us in the snow are often aching from shoveling snow or sliding around on it. Then there is the rain group, and this time of year often leads to aching joints.

Whichever elements of Nature we are experiencing, this time of year often sees us outside or inside more than usual. The aches and pains that go along with Winter, can receive profound relief from essential oils. Not to mention the emotional comfort that aromas and touch provide.

There are many ways to get relief and comfort from essential oils. The top two are massages and baths. Choose warming and stimulating oils like Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Rosemary to get those rivers of circulation in the body moving to relieve the aches and pains. These oils are also a great boost and support for your immune system. Blends these oils in a base oil like Organic Golden Jojoba, so they are safe for bath and massage. In a palm full of base oil, add 2-3 drops of essential oil. Use this also in the bath, or for an after shower-rub. If you prefer blends that are already made for you, are OLA #5 and #6 are perfect for the aches and pains of Winter.

Our Deep Rub Gel formula was developed for a client suffering from stiff necks. It has gone on to give relief for all kinds of aches and pains, and even fibromyalgia (read What's On Your Mind). We offer this to you this month at 10% off to bring you comfort, warmth, and the ability to nurture yourself and others during this Winter. Rubbing and essential oils are two of the best forms of Good Medicine. Put them together and you have what I call "sacred synergy" for our whole self. Hippocrates certainly knew this, stating the best form of preventive medicine is an aromatic bath and scented massage every day. Sounds perfect!
