    Candace's Corner of The World

One of my first teachers in essential oils was Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt of the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy in California. He now teaches a Masters Series, so off I gratefully went for a week of study in December. Kurt is a internationally recognized authority on the chemistry of essential oils. His work includes bringing together knowledgeable people in the world and research from other countries.

This course was new information and inspiration, reminding me why I am so devoted to these precious liquids from Nature. The antiviral and antibacterial properties of the oils are getting more attention through research and practice. They are an important piece of "Good Medicine" in this day and age, to protect our overall state of well being, in a world that is compromised in so many ways.

When I first put essential oils in my palm in 1989, I knew this was a precious present that was created to serve all creatures great and small...and reunite us with our scattered parts, each other and nature. These drops of liquid come through the ages to anoint, cleanse, communicate, purify and protect us in the appropriate ways of the present time.

    What's On YOUR Mind?

A Montana customer called last month and said sore throats were one of her big challenges. She called to order more Ear/Nose/Throat Oil because she puts it on a Q-tip and swabs her throat. She is a raving fan of this. I tried it and I agree! Think about this on airplanes! Thank you, Montana Lady!

A Florida customer puts some ENT Oil inside her nose for her sinus pain. Since the essential oils are in Organic Jojoba as a base, this is safe. Go gentle and see if it's right for you. Thank you, Florida friend!

In addition to the suggested uses of rubbing ENT Oil on temples, over eyebrows, under cheekbones, ears, sides of neck and throat.... a profound use is to put 3-4 drops on a piece of cotton ball and put in ear. (1) At night this helps with sleep and head congestion. (2) When feeling compromised, use day or night. (3) When ill, use day and night. (4) On airplanes and in crowded situations, it's very protective. It goes on from here.

    Oils for Winter

Thoughts of Winter involve going within in some way. So it's a good time to hunker down and care for ourselves. It's also a time when our immune systems are greatly compromised. So pull out all your "Good Medicine" tools and enjoy the season.

I often say, "Eucalyptus your way through the Winter" and this is a time to "bring on the Eucalyptus". When we think of respiration, we think of Eucalyptus. Some other single oils to have are Tea Tree, Peppermint, Lemon, and Frankincense. Of course, Lavender is always good to have around. Here are some ways to bring these antibacterial and antiviral properties into the atmosphere around you.

Diffusion. Choose one or a combination to use in a room diffuser, day and night if necessary. Put 3-4 drops on a cotton ball and keep it close to your lungs and heart.

Mist. Keep a mist with you. Use often. Start with 2 drops of oil per ounce of water and build from there, or use one of our mists and make it stronger by adding 1 drop per ounce of mist. Mist hands, door handles, and compromised areas.

Liquid soap. Choose a good liquid soap for cleansing hands and body. Add 2 drops of oil per ounce. Build from there.

Head to Toe. Applying oils to the ears and soles of feet is great protection for the body...reaching in from both ends! Rub Ear/Nose/Throat Oil (or make a Palm Blend with Jojoba and Tea Tree) on your ears and neck. Put a few drops on a piece of a cotton ball and keep in ears. Rub blend on the soles of your feet and put on socks. With cold-flu symptoms put 3-4 drops of straight Eucalyptus oil on the soles of your feet, then socks. Oils on the soles of feet was one of the first things I learned in England years ago. Use Lavender for a good night's sleep!

Use your oils and enjoy your Winter. Take a bath and soak in the pleasures of aroma, oils, and good health. This is a good time to feel those good new thoughts for creating your future.
