There are times in our lives, due to various reasons, that
we are seeing more scalp and less hair than we had before. Two
major causes for these changes are stressful life events and
hormonal changes, or the two together.
Essential oils can help with both situations. One of our
dear customers called a few months ago with thining hair, and
heart-tugging stress in her life. The following suggested
routine brought some nice results.
(1) At bedtime, pour some Organic Golden Jojoba in the palm
of your hand and add 1-2 drops of Lavender. With fingers or a
cotton ball massage this completely into the scalp. This is a
soothing conditioner for scalp and hair, relieves stress, and
helps with sleep. (2) In the morning, make another palm blend
with Jojoba and add 1-2 drops of our stimulating OLA Six pure
essential oil combination. Rub in thoroughly, wait for 20
minutes, and wash hair. Shampoo every other morning if your
scalp and hair are dry.
Our customer reported that her hair is "healthier, more
manageable, and seems thicker." The left side of the crown had
a bare spot, and this "area is partially gone." The
hairdresser commented to her that her sides were "a lot
thicker".
Organic Golden Jojoba, used alone, is an excellent
conditioner for hair and scalp. Adding Lavender, the #1
soothing essential oil, also aids sleep when used at night.
Sleep is a major concern when under stress. OLA Six is a
stimulating massage blend for the scalp: Rosemary, Sage,
Lemon, Juniperberry, Cinnamon, and Ylang Ylang. If you prefer
a single oil, use Rosemary.
Due to the strength of pure essential oils, always
dilute them in Organic Golden Jojoba before applying to the
scalp. If you are sensitive, go lightly at first. If the
aroma has a negative effect on you, do not use it.
Of course there is no magic wand for a thick head of
hair...however, there are "good medicine" things we can do to
help our head, hair, mind and heart. Enjoy!
