Holiday preparation seems to start earlier each year. So...we have put together holiday gift ideas for you. They are gift wrapped and ready to send. One of them is our GMT Pet Care Pak.

Historically, essential oils were considered among the most precious of gifts, along with gem stones. They are a gift of thoughts, memories, and emotions.

Since we're talking about pets and oils, it only seemed appropriate to show you a picture of Muga, the new love of our life. Muga is our chocolate lab-mix puppy we adopted from the Humane Society. Very soon after we got her, it was clear that she was our "Oil Puppy". While Lavender Misting myself, she sits down to be misted...head up and licking the air. We also mist her crate and her blanket. Lavender is very calming.

After the stitches came out from being spayed, I rubbed Skin Calm Gel on her belly. She promptly licked her tummy and also my hands. When her tummy is upset, I put some on my palms and she licks it right off. The chamomile is good for the belly.

Then there was the spot on her paw where the hair was rubbed off, so on went the Clear Skin Gel.

It is such a joy to finally use the oils on our own puppy, after years of hearing success stories. Yes, Mother Nature knows how to take care of us...all creatures great and small.

Comments from last months newsletter....Knowsy our Mascot Moose...is a great substitute for cotton balls!

"Candace, Actually I took a two hour flight from Phoenix to Reno for a watercolor workshop in Northern California. I brought Knowsy along in my carry on and made sure he had plenty of lavender and peppermint on his little nose. Although I'm an adult I could pick him up out of my bag and snuggle him to my nose and he also slept on my pillow at night so I had great nights of deep sleep to help me be inspired during my days. Thanks for your continued input." Pamela in Arizona

"...certain scents reduce road rage? Drivers exposed to the smell of cinnamon and peppermint reported feeling less frustrated. Add two drops of each oil to two cotton balls...wrap the cotton balls in a piece of cheesecloth...and put it under the car seat. The scent will last about a week." Bryan Randenbush, Phd, LPharn. Pets and Oils

How many times have we done something for a specific reason, and found out there were many more reasons to come? This is the story of each of my formulas. Each was created for one person in one situation. Three of our formulas ended up in our GMT Pet Care Pak.

Our Lavender Mist was originally created for myself in about 1992, to keep me healthy on airplanes. When one customer was using it to help her sleep at night, she noticed her dog who slept by the bed, was also calming down, and ran over to get "misted" each night. It was also used to calm down excited animals in the car.

Our Skin Calm Gel was created for a customer with psoriasis and raw hands. Then a friend who does cat rescue work used it on a 2 to 3 inch eye- neck wound on a cat with FIV when all else had failed. The wound healed, scratching stopped, the thick scar healed, and fur started growing again.

Our Clear Skin Gel started out as Blemish Gel for a teenage customer with acne. It has cleared up rashes and ear problems on dogs.

The pure Tea Tree Oil in the Pet Pak is good for spot work, like bites and cuts. A customer who raises Arabian horses said it was a "must have" for her horses. She also used it on their feet.

I took a class in California with Caroline Ingraham, an internationally known aromatherapist with horses and dogs. She showed us how if they need an oil, and you put it in your hand, they will lick it. They'll stop when they don't need it anymore. This has proven true with our puppy, Muga, and Skin Calm Gel. See Candace's Corner of the World on little Muga. What a delight. Her trainer here in Colorado, Julie Paige, is also using our Pet Care Pak....on herself and her dogs! That's the beauty of it all.
