Salutations To You!

Traveling in this day and age can be exhausting, frustrating, and downright traumatic. So it's up to us to create ways to stay mentally, physically, and emotionally fit. "No liquids on airplanes" makes this a challenge. However, we CAN do it!

In reading my ideas, think about treating yourself to the aroma of an exquisite oil that really speaks to your heart and makes you feel great. These are the times we need the top guns of aroma. How about Rose otto or Sandalwood? Make sure you use high grade oils so that you also receive the protective health benefits. Happy trails to you!

Our best to you,

Our Ear/Nose/Throat Oil formula comes in a 1 ounce bottle and it is an excellent blend to put on a cotton ball for travel. Directions for this on are the label.

This blend is for respiratory situations of all kinds. It is made to safely apply in the nose, and massage the temples, ears, neck, throat and chest. I always travel with this on a piece of a cotton ball in my ears, and many of us also go to bed at night this way. Helps clear the head, but also helps with sleep. It's comforting.

Cotton balls...cotton balls...and cotton balls! Sometimes we can do so much with so little. Think of them as little personal mini-diffusers for the health, happiness and joy of it all.

Over my years of work, there have been so many situations where the cotton ball with a couple of drops of pure essential oil, has come to the rescue to provide amazing emotional comfort and physical relief. One time it was a cotton ball of pure Lavender tucked in her dress that helped a nervous bride down the aisle. Then there was the child who got kicked out of pre- school, and with a cotton ball of Orange in his pocket, he was back in the swing of things (he also got a massage at bedtime with Orange and Jojoba from his Mom...God Bless her). A cotton ball of Peppermint helped a student study, and relieved a car passenger from motion sickness. Then there is the cotton ball of Rose otto that soothed an aching heart, and one of Jasmine to celebrate the joy of a new relationship. In my Hospice work, there was the cotton ball of Lavender in the patient's pillows to help them with the transition.

The most sacred cotton ball memory of all for me, was the one with our OLA #4 of Lavender and Rose otto in Golden Organic Jojoba, that I brushed lightly on my Mother's forehead and she passed away. Now you know why the cotton balls are included in our Good Medicine Tin. Let's not underestimate the power of gentle and simple. The heart knows all about this.

    What's On YOUR Mind?

The top two essential oils for traveling are Lavender (for nerves and antibacterial protection) and Peppermint (for stomach, motion sickness, and respiratory aid). They are also the top two oils for headache relief. For jet lag, Lavender helps with sleep, and Peppermint helps with fatigue. Deep breaths will help you stay awake and alert.

Other soothing oils to help with nerves are Orange, Geranium, Rose and Sandalwood. Some others that are stimulating and help with respiratory conditions are Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Lemon and Frankincense.

If you have found others way to help with the "no liquids on airplanes" situation....I would love to hear from you. It's all about staying healthy, happy, and prosperous on all levels! Thank you!

    Oils, Liquids, & Airplanes

Once we have traveled with essential oils, we won't fly without them! With the changes in the world and the "no liquids on airplanes", we are presented with a dilemma. One customer contacted us who had her Good Medicine Tin® taken away from her, and others have emailed for suggestions.

One of the first powerful experiences for me with essential oils, was when I started using them on flights to England to keep me healthy, while training with Micheline Arcier. The antibacterial and antiviral natural chemistry of the oils protects our physical health. (They are excellent with respiratory conditions.) However, their aroma gives us the emotional comfort for nerves, jet lag, and grueling flights or waits in airports.

So what can we do without their "liquid form" in our possession? The miracle is that these liquids happen to have an intense aroma. This is why I call essential oils a microcosm of wholistic medicine. Their physical liquid and their nonphysical aroma effect our physical and nonphysical states.

Here we go again creating new ways to be Ok in these lives we live... in this complex and changing world. Put 3-4 drops of a pure essential oil on a cotton ball. Make up as many of these as you like and put them in a baggie or tin (use your Good Medicine Tin® and check the bottles in your suitcase). Put one in your pocket or tuck it close to you heart for breathing. You can also put a blend (essential oils mixed in Jojoba) on a cotton ball, for massaging your temples and back of neck. This is an alternative way to use the oils and blends anywhere.

See "What's On Your Mind?"...for more suggestions regarding which oils to use.
