Salutations To You!
Fall is a favorite season of smells and colors. There are so many
aromas associated with the Fall...leaves, moisture, and harvests of
all kinds. One harvest all of us connect to is the harvest of the
mind and spirit.
Whatever kind of "Quiet Time" we each choose, it is our
way to get back to center, affirm our beliefs, and experience the
peace of the moment. Aromas assist us in this practice, as they add
another dimension and power to the experience. In this issue, we go
over ideas for you to enjoy.
Our Aromatic Best to you for Happy Thoughts and Healthy

Since we are going to the American Massage Therapy
Association Annual Conference this month....we are continuing
our special on the Master Set of our Oil Lady Aromatherapy®
(OLA) Seven Massage Blends. This is all seven blends in
wonderful cobalt blue glass bottles with white lock-top pumps,
and a rainbow chart.
I developed these blends through my Aromatherapy massage
practice. They can be used for body oils, bath and shower too.
The base is 100% Organic Golden Jojoba, which is a liquid wax
(not an oil), that is nourishing to the skin. Enjoy the
savings this month and treat yourself to the set. Different
times, we want different blends.

Well, it sounds like we will see a few of you in
Cincinnati, Ohio this month. John and I will be at the Duke
Energy Center, at Booth #127, for the Annual Conference of the
American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). The show starts
on Thursday from 4:30 to 8 PM September 27th, through Saturday
at 3 PM.
On Friday, the 28th at 12:30, I will be giving a short
presentation in the Exhibit Hall on "How to Integrate
Aromatherapy Into your Practice and Increase Your Income".
As you move into the Fall Season, remember to set aside
time each day to count your blessings and reap all the
blessings that your "Quiet Times" of prayer, meditation and
reflection reveal to you. Choose thoughts and actions that
make your heart smile and your spirit soar. Life is
short....and oh so precious.

We have several wholesale practitioners who are
Hypnotherapists. By adding an aroma to their "good work" (the
client chooses the oil they really like), another dimension is
added to the situation they are working on together. The
client can then simply carry around a little bottle of that
oil...get quiet at any time....close their eyes and breathe
the oil....and bring back the desired soothing feeling.
Aromas help us care for ourselves in simple, inexpensive
ways. In a world full of turmoil and complexity...sometimes
the LITTLE THINGS, end up being the BIG THINGS that really
help us through it all. There are so many ways to use the
oils. They can even be used in the car. Whether it is
whiffing, misting, rubbing, bathing, praying or
meditating....they are here to help us.
Aromatic ideas for prayer and quiet times: (1) Use
the oil in a diffuser, (2) Add it in a mist, and circle big
clouds around your head and face... I call this Aromatherapy
smudging, (3) Put a few drops on a cotton ball and tuck it in
your chest pocket, (4) Apply a drop to your nose, temples,
back of neck or wrist. Most importantly, choose an aroma that
melts your heart and calls in your spirit. Some of the ancient
ones are Frankincense, Sandalwood, and Rose. Also, consider
making your own combination. Reserve this special aroma for
these personal times.

Prayer, Meditation, and Aroma |
|
|
|
These "Quiet Times" of prayer, meditation, and reflection,
all give us a break from the noise of the day. They calm the
mind and restore our spirit. One of the first things I learned
about essential oils and aromas was their cross-cultural
qualities. They have always been an important element of
prayer and meditation. Frankincense has an ancient history in
religious and spiritual practices. The root of the word
"perfume" refers to sending up one's prayers on smoke to God.
Since aromas, through the olfactory system, shoot directly
into the brain, create a thought and emotion, which
instantaneouly creates new biochemisty....it is no wonder they
are powerful components to prayerful times. Aroma is a
language of thought, memory and emotion. Think of an aroma
right now that always brings up the same memories and feelings
for you.
When setting aside time to pray, meditate, reflect, or
recite your positive affirmations...add an aroma to these
thoughts and feelings that permeate your whole being. Smell
the oil a few times during the day to remember this.
Two of the most powerful things I have learned in my life
that make a daily difference in how I feel, are to dedicate 20
minutes for exercise (walking for me) and 20 minutes for my
"Quiet Time". This is my 20/20.
One of the best books on "How to do" this quiet time is
The Relaxation Response by Herbert Benson MD, Professor
at Harvard Medical School. He explains four simple steps, and
his scientific studies show physical results (lower blood
pressure and slower heart rate). Nonphysical results show a
more balanced state of well-being. His follow-up book is
Beyond the Relaxation Response. Excellent reading.
Why not spend 20 minutes a day for peace, and compliment it
with the power of genuine aroma....the silent language of the
soul. |
