John and I, our doggie Muga, and RV Tango are back home in
Pagosa Springs, Colorado and delighted to be here. We were glad to miss
the heavy snow and ice, and happy to see so many of you in my classes in
Florida. Thank you!
After closing the product sales last October to step aside
and see the forest through the trees, we have decided that the call is to
revise the product line and the company with a Grand Re-opening this
summer. We are putting this new structure together and believe we'll have
news for you soon.
If you are in need of some oils before we announce the Grand
Re-opening, please call or email and we'll do our best to help you.
June 10th, 8:30pm EST, I will be the teleconference
presenter for the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) on
my Touch With Oils® Hand Massage. Join me to learn the story and hear my
experiences from Hospice, to the Andes, to Saudi Arabia. See www.naha.org for more info.
My summer classes will be announced soon!

Essential Oils for the
Summer ...
Most all of the country had
a strange and extreme winter of some sort. Now we're moving into the heat
and activities of summer. Here are some helpful ideas.
Misting is a great way to cool and refresh
with Lavender or Lavender-Peppermint Mists. Keep one with you and one in
the refrigerator. Nothing like a cool mist on the head, face and back of
neck.
Keep your Tea Tree
available for bug bites and scratches. A little dab straight on the spot
as itch or pain demands.
For traveling take The
Good Medicine Tin® or take several of the components. Lavender Mist
for sunburn, heat, and cool mists. Peppermint oil for motion sickness,
breathing, jet lag, and headaches. Lavender for stress, sleep, and
headaches too. Tea Tree for bites and scratches. A bottle of Organic
Golden Jojoba for making Palm Blends with the 3 pure essential oils for
rubbing on the skin. Lavender and/or Peppermint are good for rubbing on
the temples and neck for headaches and stress. Peppermint is good for
belly rubs. Add 1-2 drops of pure E.O. into about 10 drops of Jojoba in
your palm.

Organic Essential Oils?
|
|

|
|
There are so many options and things are so complex, how do
we know what is really the best for us. The word "organic" has
really come into its own, now more than ever. We believe that anything
claiming to be so is the best choice, grown and processed
chemically-free. Standards are set up to be followed and seals of
approval are given. Much of the information leads us to believe that
"organic" anything is the only way to go, and assures the
healthiest and best quality.
The world of essential oils is a bit different, because for
centuries essential oils have come from other countries that don't have
such a thing as "organic standards".
We receive requests for only organic essential oils. Yes,
many are available ... and we continue to see more because of the world
market demand. However, until recently the USA has not been a world
supplier of essential oils because we are a relatively new country
without the history of their medicinal value and use.
Essential oils grown and processed in optimally healthy ways
are called "naturally farmed" or "wildcrafted". We
might say this is the old world way of saying "organic". The
important point here is that not all essential oils are available as
"organic" ... even if they are it doesn't mean it's superior to
a naturally farmed or wildcrafted one.
The finest grade essential oils with the best natural
chemical constituents and purest aroma come from the place is the world
where that plant or tree grows the happiest and healthiest. Grown in its
optimal element and domain, it can provide us with its most optimal level
of performance for our physical and non-physical health.
For example: The top 2 natural chemical constituents in
Lavender are linalyl acetate and linalool. They account for the powerful
anti-inflammatory and stress reducing effects. The chemical constituents
of an essential oil are revealed by GC/MS testing. Some reports show that
these two constituents are lower in the certified organic Lavender
tested, than in the Bulgarian Lavender grown at high altitude. So in the
case, the Bulgarian Lavender may be the better choice.
The important issue is to use the purest grade essential
oils you can ... like a fine, fine wine. This means they can be organic,
naturally- farmed, and wild-crafted. They also can be tested to check the
natural chemistry of an oil, and be sure there are no dilutions and
adulterations. It comes down to trusting your source and your nose.
