What Can I Do?
|
|

|
|
Here's how you
can use essential oils to hold onto your dreams. Select a mist, a
straight essential oil, and one of our custom blends to use as often as
you like... and spend a few quiet moments reflecting on the state of
well-being you would like to create. Imagine how you would feel in that
state as you breathe in the aromas that speak to your heart.
When
misting, make big sweeping circles around the top of your head and then
be sure to mist the back of you neck closely. Feel that you are washing
away the "dross" and breathe in your heart's desires. Enjoy
this sense of well being. For misting, we recommend our Lavender,
Lavender- Peppermint, or Rose-Lavender Mists.
When
you need a quick shift from old thoughts to new feelings, choose a
straight, pure essential oil and inhale 5
to 7 deep breaths, with eyes closed. Also, put a few drops on a
cotton ball to keep with you, put in your car, your desk, or tuck in your
pillow. It is important to choose an aroma that makes you feel good. Some
suggestions: Lavender, Peppermint, Orange, or any of our
custom blends in their pure state.
When
rubbing essential oils on your skin, select one of our custom blends in
Jojoba, or make a "palm blend" by pouring our Organic Golden
Jojoba Oil into your palm and adding one drop of an essential oil of your
choice. Apply some to your nose. Then rub your palms together, cup your
nose, and breathe deeply with your eyes closed. Feel yourself shift into
your desired state. Then slowly and gently rub the blend on your temples,
the back of your neck, and your heart. Remember...while your mind and
spirit receive the gift of the rich aromas of our therapeutic grade oils,
your body is getting a healthy dose of antibacterial properties.

Q&A: We're glad you asked!
|
|

|
|
How can
essential oils and aroma help me focus, think, and set goals?
The
nose-brain connection can cause a shift in your biochemisty in less than a
second. Olfactory nerves pick up the molecules of aroma (like Lavender)
and travel through the olfactory tract directly into the emotional center
of the brain.
Smell
causes us to have an emotional response, which can be connected to a
thought, memory, or emotion. The emotional response we feel is reflected
in this newly created corresponding biochemisty. There are receptor sites
throughout the body, ready to receive this biochemical messenger.
So...inhale
a stimulating essential oil, like Eucalyptus, Peppermint, or our custom
blend #5 or #6. Enjoy the aroma and wake up your mind.

Where in the World?

This month's
exotic essential oil location: The Land Downunder. Tea Tree (Melaleuca
alternifolia) is among the rare and unusual trees growing naturally in
the swampy low- lying land of New South
Wales on the east coast of Australia. In 1770,
English explorer Captain James Cooke made tea from the leaves of this
tree to keep his crew healthy. The essential oil was then given its name
by the English. Tea Tree Oil, distilled from the leaves of the tree, has
powerful abilities to clean and help heal wounds and skin ailments in
people and animals. It is considered sacred medicine for healing purposes
by the Aborigines, the indigenous people of Australia.
Tea
Tree Oil was considered a necessity for the first aid kits of Army and
Navy units in this area during World War II. In exchange for providing
this gift of medicine, the cutters and producers of Tea Tree Oil were
exempt from military service.
"As
we walk life's path there are always going to be the unexpected bumps,
cuts, stings, burns, etc. For me, I can breathe a little easier knowing
that I have a bottle of Tea Tree Oil in my medicine cabinet...it is truly
one of Mother Nature's bountiful gifts to man...it works. it works, it
work."

This Month's OLA™ Storyteller: More Good News!

"Tea Tree
and Lavender essential oils in aloe vera gel worked incredibly well on my
10-year-old golden retriever's seborrhea. The inflamed areas went down
quickly and the skin healed over raw spots almost overnight. It also
works very well for fire ant bites, which I discovered by accident. I
stepped in an ant mound, and had at least a dozen bites. After putting
this mixture on the welts, they immediately went down."
"In
14 years as a pharmacist, I have never seen anything work this
well." C. Nunzio Florida, USA

New Year's Dreams
|
|
|
|
Each New Year,
we are given another opportunity to evaluate where we were last year,
where we are now, and where we would like to go this year. It is a good
time to ask ourselves: What served us before, but no longer serves us
now? What served us before and still serves us now? What new things can
we invite into our lives to serve us better? Because we cannot give away
that which we do not have, the better we serve ourselves, the more we
have to serve others. It all starts at home. "Love starts in the
heart, the place where God always is, patiently waiting for us... to
quietly come home."
In many parts of the world, it is
traditional to use aromas to celebrate the seasons and the changing of
times. Aromas demand that we be present in the moment as they tap into
our memories and stir up our emotions. They bring comfort to our heart
and they soothe our spirit. The ancient Egyptians were among many people
throughout history, who considered essential oils to be a sacred gift at
the beginning of the New Year. Essential oils help us celebrate the end
of one year and the beginning of the new one with all its hopes and
dreams. Every ending is also a beginning. There is no beginning without
an ending.
As you evaluate what you have endured,
enjoyed, and achieved in 2002, set aside some quiet time to listen and
decide what you no longer need to carry around. Then focus on what you
want to create and accomplish this year, and what new things you can
bring into the space you have just created. This includes mental
thoughts, spiritual concepts, emotional feelings, and physical habits and
conditions.
As you acknowledge your dreams and
commit to your plans, use essential oils to help join together the forces
of your heart and mind, and to sharpen the focus of your dreams and
plans. For example, Lavender is derived from the Latin word
"Lavare" which means "to wash" and is one of the many
oils that can assist you in washing away the old and giving you a breath
of fresh air to breathe in the new. Change your dreams...and you change
your reality.
