Patchouli Oil - Pogostemon cablin
One of the
first times I smelled Patchouli was during the Purdue University
class: Advanced International Study of Essential Oils. This was an
opportunity of a life time to be with passionate
like-minded people from all over the world. On one of the
field trips to an "Oil House" in Indiana, the owner
brought out a bottle of 25 year old Patchouli essential oil. Deep
& rich, warm & sweet, earthy & heavenly
... it gets better with age. I learned great respect for
genuine Patchouli essential oil and its exquisite aroma.
This is what
our supplier says: "Patchouli
oil Reserve Select, (Dark, Iron Distilled), India - This is
absolutely the best patchouli available in the world today with a
very high patchouli alcohol content of 34%. We regularly set
aside certain premium lots of patchouli oil to be aged for at least
three years as the oil actually gets considerably better with time.
Like a fine wine, the older the patchouli the better. The
current batch in stock that we have released for sale is vintage
2006 material and is sweeter smelling than the typical Indonesian
or Chinese material as well as a higher patchouli alcohol (the
sesquiterpene alcohol that is the main component in patchouli
oil)."
Patchouli,
mixed in a base oil like Jojoba, is regenerative &
moistening for skin conditions. It's a top oil to alleviate
anxiety, fatigue, depression & stress-related
conditions. Known to have a calming hypnotizing scent,
it's good for overwhelming mental strain. Then ... you can
always use a dab on your wrist for a true perfume.

had history with Patchouli in the sixties, and never smelled it
until the nineties, which is when I also learned about it's sixties
popularity . However, I've heard many memories of those times
from people smelling our Patchouli oil. I call it "Rich Ruby
Oil" for it's deep red-orange color and smooth
texture. It is one of the oils in our signature formula: Rejuvenation Face
