What Can I Do?

Show up with
your Good Medicine Tin® or a prepared blend, a Lavender Mist, your pure
heart and your healing hands. Watching the video before you go, or taking
it with you is also an option.
1.
Spend a moment getting the giver and the receiver very comfortable, and
be sure you are in a quiet setting. Phones off. Lavender Mist their face
and head, and yours also.
2. Make
a palm blend from the Good Medicine Tin® (Jojoba and 1 drop of the
selected essential oil), or pour a prepared blend in your palm. Apply
this to their nose to make the nose-brain shift. Gently rub the temples
and back of neck with the oils.
3.
Apply oils to both their hands at once, and rest them on a pillow in
their lap. Do a slow, gentle, rhythmic hand massage, one hand at a time.
Give the person permission to close their eyes and be quiet. This is a
quiet time for both of you. Experience how giving and receiving can be
one.

Q&A: We're glad you asked!

What are the
best oils for Hand Massage?
This
depends on the condition of the person, the reason for the massage, and
you. It is essential that both you and the person like the aroma. You do
not want to create headaches, bring up bad memories, or bring on more
stress. Remember, this is about kindness and compassion.
For
relaxation, it is hard to beat Lavender, Orange, and/or Rose. Geranium
and Sandalwood are also good possibilities. You can make a palm blend
with one of these. Any of our OLA™ Custom Blends are ready for you to
use, including our Healthy Hands Blend, which has Lemon in it.
For
energy and stimulation, Lavender with Peppermint or Eucalyptus are
favorites.

Where in the World?

A recent visit
to the capitol city of Bahrain, Manama, took us to the local markets, the
"souks." These open booths are on narrow walking streets. The
spice market was full of wonderful colors and aromas. Spices are
displayed in open wooden boxes, like trays, and the ground spices are
piled high in the shape of a pyramid. Long cinnamon sticks are tied
together like little bundles of logs. What a treasure. The herbal person
who sells the natural "medicines" is called a
"Hawaj."
One
merchant and his wife explained to us that the Rose water bottles are
used in the homes to sprinkle Rose water in the guests' hands. Then they
apply it to their face.
The
treasured trade routes of Frankincense are one of the reasons this area
became a bustling center of commerce. The sense of centuries of
civilizations crossing land and sea, bearing gifts and treasures, is in
the earth and in the air.
Welcome your guests with our Rose-Lavender Mist....

After receiving
the Touch With Oils® Hand Massage with our OLA™ #4 Custom Blend of Rose
and Lavender, the patient opened his eyes wide, and said: "This is
the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced." He then went off
to sleep after having been up all night in pain.

Nights
of noise and struggle have changed to peace and joy, as my 4-year-old
hyperactive son now looks forward to going to bed. He selected Orange as
the oil he loves, and I make a palm blend with Jojoba and Orange, and we
do the massage. This also gives us a special time together. My whole
family thanks you!

Touch With Oils® Hand Massage

Oils and hands,
like bread and wine, are meant to go together. Have you seen the Egyptian
hieroglyphs of people in a circle giving each other massage ? Our hands
are incredible tools that work for us all day long. They are a major form
of expression: shaking hands, holding hands, hugging, blowing kisses,
saluting, praying, holding them open, and touching our heart.
Our hands are an extension of the
feelings in our hearts. We offer what we have to give, with our hands. We
all know the power of the gentle touch on the arm or shoulder, and the
silent comfort of holding hands.
The Touch With Oils® Hand Massage
developed through me while doing retreats and Hospice work, since full
body massage was not appropriate. It moved to another level when I used
it on my father with Alzheimer's, people who were unconscious, and people
whose language I could not speak. I found that I was communicating in a
way that went beyond words. Words would actually have diminished and
limited the experience. Giving and receiving become one, and being in
this field of compassion brings in that mysterious awe of peace that goes
beyond all understanding.
This is for everyone, regardless of
condition or age. Put your grandchildren or grandparents to sleep at
night. Experience this gift with another. It is slow and gentle, and is
now on a video for you to follow along with me. Everyday is a day of
Thanksgiving, and the gift of Love never gets old. All you need to do is
show up with your hands (of course), a little bit of oil, and your
precious heart... always holding the vision.
