What Can I Do?

.

When "Sleepless in Bed", grab your tools: Lavender Mist, Lavender, Organic Golden Jojoba, and the OLA™ Natural Tranquilizer.

1. Set up a room diffuser with Lavender and /or Orange. Put a cotton ball in your pillow with 1-2 drops of either oil.

2. Sit on the side of your bed and Lavender Mist your head and shoulders with big sweeping circles. Think about "washing away the day."

3. Make a "palm blend' with Organic Golden Jojoba and Lavender (1 drop), or pour some Natural Tranquilizer in your palm. Apply to nose, rub palms together, cup nose, and breathe deeply with eyes closed. Gently and slowly rub your temples, neck, and shoulders. Lie down. Do slow, circular belly rubs. Get quiet and listen.

Q&A: We're glad you asked!

.

I put myself to sleep every night with the Lavender Mist and the bottle of Lavender I keep on my nightstand. My dog that is normally very hyper now comes and sits by the nightstand with me, calms down, and goes to sleep. When it is time to go to bed, he now goes to the bedroom and sits on the rug, waiting for his mist. Does he really get affected by the Lavender?

Absolutely. Animals' sense of smell is many times stronger than humans. Just getting a whiff of the Lavender in the air can be plenty for him. Just like us, it shifts his emotional brain and affects the central nervous system. It is an autonomous nervous system response. Bravo!

Where in the World?

.

In September, John and I had our second trip to Cyprus, Aphrodite's Island of Love. The southern Greek half blessed us from villages and monasteries in the mountains to the Mediterranean Sea.

We visited a Donkey Sanctuary, where an English couple is dedicated to saving the plight of the Cypriot Donkey. The Donkey to the Cypriots was/is like the Camel to the Arabs:transport, life, and commerce.

As Providence would have it, we also visited a Rose farmer. Exquisite Rosa damascena grows in the pristine conditions of the mountains. I was in my element.

Join us in our OLA™ studio-shop on November 11th for "An Evening With Oil Lady Candace" for Saudi and Cyprus stories, sips of Saudi coffee and tea, whiffs of Cyprus Rose Oil, and Donkey pictures.

I had been on sleep aids for six months. After purchasing your Good Medicine Tin®, I started using Lavender oil on my pillow, Lavender Mist, and doing a little self massage with Jojoba and Lavender. Now I am sleeping well and do not need the pills. Thank you!

Thank you for the Natural Tranquilizer! My 8-year old granddaughter is now asleep within minutes after applying this wonder.

Sleepless In Bed

Many a night we have all tossed and turned, watched the clock, and wondered what to do with ourselves. There are many causes for this with a few being: mental stress, physical pain, emotional turmoil, hormonal changes, and life transitions. Sometimes we just can't calm down those wild monkeys swinging from tree to tree in our minds, screeching as they swing.

Addressing the cause is important. We want to get the wisdom, and we don't want to miss a call from the heart. Getting some sleep to help us through the night is also important. Essential oils are a great help, and Lavender is the #1 choice. Many studies have shown the effectiveness of Lavender. Some people actually have transitioned off sleep aids.

Lavender has the natural chemical constituents to help balance the central nervous system. The aroma works through the brain, causing a shift in the emotional state. This causes a shift in the brain biochemistry which goes out as a messenger to tell the cells and tissue how to behave. This is an autonomous nervous system response. Other essential oils that can help with restless nights are Orange, Rose, Chamomile, and Valerian. These 4 oils along with Lavender make up our OLA™ Natural Tranquilizer, which is ready for use in massage or the bath.

See "What Can I Do" and set a new habit in your emotional brain. Create a "prepare to go to sleep time" for yourself that works for you. Experiment with baths, quiet time, massage, room diffusers, misting, and belly rubs. Aroma and touch create a sacred synergy. The wild monkeys don't stand a chance. Be gentle with yourself. Life is precious.
