What Can I Do?

To soothe your
sore muscles, choose an individual essential oil listed in the Feature Article, use our OLA™ #5 Custom Blend, or our OLA™
Deep Rub Gel.
1. With
a single essential oil, pour Organic Golden Jojoba Oil into the palm of
your hand. Add 1-2 drops of the oil of choice. Take several deep breaths
of the aroma and slowly and rhythmically rub the sore area.
2. With
the OLA™ #5 Blend or Deep Rub Gel, apply them
directly to the area. This can be done as often as desired. The
"rubbing" is just as important as the oils.
3. Make
a bath with warm bath water and get in first. Then apply steps 1 and 2 to
the sore area. The warm water adds to the good medicine. Using a wet
washcloth as a compress is good for the neck and shoulder areas.

Q&A: We're glad you asked!

How important it
is that I like the smell of the essential oils when I am using them for
sore muscles?
Neuroscientist,
Candace Pert, has proven that the brain sends out biochemistry
corresponding to the emotion it is experiencing. These brain messengers
travel throughout the body to receptor sites on the cells, which then
feed the tissue.
If you
have a pleasing response to the aroma of these oils, then you have the
added benefit of your brain chemistry helping to soothe the aches and
pains in the tissue, as your hands are doing their good work with the
oils.
Try it
with an aroma you do not like, and one that you just love. Notice how you
feel, and how long you are willing to keep "rubbing."

Where in the World?

This September
finds John and I back in the Arabian Desert town of Jubail on the Persian Gulf. Florida is hot and
humid in the summer...and then there is Saudi Arabia. The 115 degree
heat with 100% humidity is often accompanied by a dust storm, all this
while wearing a black abaya and scarf. No wonder the streets are empty of
people and cars in the daytime.
This
reminds us that there is a time for going out and coming in. Action and
rest balance each other, like day and night. Know that whatever phase you
are in, has its value, and "This Too Shall Pass". Respond to
your "Call" and keep walking. All you need to do is take the
next step. Rose-Lavender Mist is a sacred helper.

Last night with
my hurting stiff neck, I warmed my hands and rubbed your Deep Rub into my
neck area. I then rubbed the reflexology area on my hand for the neck. In
the morning the pain was gone. Actually, it was gone before I fell
asleep. So, I must have more!

My
husband has had "Tennis Elbow" for a long time. The pain has
been disturbing his sleep lately no matter what we try. I decided to try
your Deep Rub. The pain was gone almost immediately. For the first time
in months my husband slept through the night. I also decided to try some
on my ankle with the same outstanding results. Thank you again and keep
up the good work. We use all of your products and have been very pleased
with everything.

Oh My Aching Body!

Muscle soreness
is part of life as we move and respond to what life brings us and the
choices we make. Whether it's from work or play, or dealing with one of
those life challenges, we all experience the call of sore muscles.
Essential oils and rubbing are sacred
medicine for sore tissue. Hippocrates emphasized the healing value of
aromatic baths and scented massage, and claimed some of the best medicine
for a tight or loose joint was "rubbing." So pour your precious
oils into your sacred hands and get to work. Play with the tissue as if
it were clay. Soft and gentle is powerful.
Some of the top essential oils that come
to the sore-muscle-call rescue are Lavender, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and
Rosemary. Lavender is anti-inflammatory and helps relieve pain. The other
three are warming and stimulating. They assist in moving the rivers
through the tissues and joints. This improves circulation with the good
work of your hands, thus bringing more oxygen to the cells and tissue.
Other good choices are our OLA™ #5
Custom Blend which has Eucalyptus and Peppermint in it, or our OLA™ Deep
Rub Gel containing Peppermint, Rosemary, and others. Massage and baths
are the best methods. See "What Can I Do?" Choose the aromas
that are pleasing to your mind. The emotional brain will send out
corresponding chemistry to help feed the body's tissue.
